Nearby attractions

St. Dominic de Guzman Parish Church
Attraction   2.67 km away

St. Dominic de Guzman Parish Church was the largest existing Catholic Church in the Philippines during the late 18th century. Built by Dominican friars in the 1500’s, the church follows a Baroque style of architecture. It was constructed with ladrillo or bricks while its top level features a painting of Saint Dominic. The church was reconstructed several times after being destroyed by fire, in 1587 and in 1718, and after a number of natural disasters. The town celebrates the Feast of St. Dominic annually every August 8.

DOREVI Industries
Attraction   3.58 km away

Located on Posadas Avenue in San Carlos, DOREVI Industries gives travelers a peek into transforming the versatile bamboo into elegant wine holders, picture frames, table centrepieces, mobile phone holders, home stools, cabinets, and other pieces of furniture. DOREVI Industries was founded in 1988 by Alfredo Reyes Vicente. The bamboo factory started supplying to local malls in 1995 as Balikbayan Handicrafts became popular. For cultural and creative tours, this local industry is ideal for students and artisans alike who wish to spark their creativity, inspiration, and art appreciation—or take home some finely crafted bamboo products!

Pasima Bamboo Product Weaving
Attraction   5.45 km away

Seeing a kaing or bilao woven in front of you would make you think why it is a domestic product rather than a handicraft. The Philippines is blessed with many artisans and that include very skilled weavers. In Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Barangay Pasima is known to house bamboo-weavers. They make kaing (woven bamboo basket), bilao (woven bamboo tray), and drying beds. In Pasima, bamboo-weaving is a way of life. It is a family affair - the kids are assigned in weaving the basket’s base, while the mother finish the baskets. Kids aged eight start to help in weaving, while grandmothers also do their share of weaving. Seeing weavers work with bamboo sheets is almost magical as you understand how much effort and skills are needed to create a basket that would sell for only P10 to P12. Try weaving your own bamboo basket!
