Pao Nambalan Beach in Burgos
Accessible by boat or by car from the town center, Nambalan beach has a small cove with a short stretch of fine golden-white sand and jagged black rock formations that can serve as a great dramatic backdrop for your next #travelgram. The beach also has a grassy area shaded by coconut trees, making it a great stop for a midday picnic. Camping is also allowed on the beach, so those who are so inclined can enjoy a peaceful night sleeping under a sky filled with endless stars.
Paratec Beach in Burgos
With a generous sandbar, Paratek is great for beach bums of all ages, though the sharp rock formations are best reserved for the more stable walkers, who ideally are wearing the right footwear. It can be a challenging trek up and down the rough rocks, and the passage along the waters can get scarily narrow, with the waves smashing violently against the rocks. After a few twists and turns, the water does calm down at least for a short stretch – just enough for one to dive in and swim in the cool, bright blue waters.
Cabongaoan Beach in Burgos
Arguably the best beach in Burgos and definitely a hidden gem, Cabongaoan is a long stretch of fine, golden sand that gives way to waters clear as gin. Taking a dip in Cabongaoan is always pleasant, thanks to its mostly sandy, rock-free seabed, though even on the rockier end of the beach, eager swimmers can take a dip in any of the tidal pools that vary from small and shallow to large and deep. Post-swim, one can dry off by taking a stroll up to a viewpoint where one can enjoy a view of the coast not many get to see. Cabongaoan also plays host to incredible sunsets
Burgos might just be every beach lover’s dream, with several beaches at the top of its must-see list. It is easy to fall off the grid here – with spotty phone signal and shorelines relatively unfettered by commercial establishments, it is a town that seems made for getting away from it all. Fine sand and tidal pools are in generous supply on this side of Pangasinan, and so are sunsets that are sure to take your stress – and your breath – away. The town is also home to interesting rock formations that make for quite the trek, so those in the mood for a little physical challenge are in for a treat. The best part is, after sweating buckets walking through its rough terrains, there are always clear blue waters nearby to jump into for a well-deserved cool down.
